Elisabeth Kurnia Dewi is a violinist, sarangi player and a composer who was born in Yogyakarta. She began studying music when she was very young, first she began with learning piano and guitar later she decided to get more serious about music and she went to Sekolah Menengah Musik in Yogyakarta to deepen violin and classical music formally.
After graduating she continued her study in Indonesia Institute of The Arts in Yogyakarta, Faculty of Performing Arts, majoring in Music. Participated in 'Twilite Orchestra' album - 'La Forza del Destino', 'Peterpan' album - 'Taman Langit' and 'Siti Nurhaliza' album - 'Tahajjud Cinta'. In 2006 she also participated in a video clip of 'Eric Benet' - 'The Last Time'. In 2008 she received a scholarship from the Italian Government and in 2009 she went to study at the Università per Stranieri di Perugia - Italy. During her study in Italy she joined the Orchestra dell'Universita degli Studi di Perugia - Italy. She participated in the Solidarity Concert for Earthquake in Aquila. Moreover she has ever performed twice as a solo violinist in Studenti Stranieri in Concerto; 'Canti, Ritmi e Danze dal Mondo' and 'Trenta E Lode'. She is currently devoting her musical passion by pursuing a solo career. After joining for quite a long time which generally played masterpiece works like classic, opera, also pop, broadway, ect, and now in her solo career, she chooses to explore folk music, traditional music and world music. Her first album titled ESCAPE was released in May 2012 in digital and physical format. This album is under her own mini label EKD Project. The songs on her album mostly are her own compositions.
